How Neil Assoumou Reinvents the Social Football Game with No-Code

Neil Assoumou creates a social football app with PandaSuite

Neil Assoumou’s passion for digital apps and interactive experiences took root several years ago, fueled by his admiration for platforms like Snapchat. But one persistent obstacle stood in his way: he didn’t know how to code.

His journey demonstrates how PandaSuite enabled a non-technical creator to transform an ambitious idea into a complete ecosystem of interactive games, now in its final stages before launch.

Early Aspirations and No-Code Discovery

Originally from Ivory Coast, Neil arrived in France at age 18 to pursue studies in management and digital marketing. Throughout his academic and professional career, his fascination with mobile apps and digital services grew. He recalls:

I was fascinated by Snapchat. I was impressed to see how such a simple concept had created a complete and engaging ecosystem.

However, the learning curve of traditional coding seemed daunting:

I faced a significant technological barrier. Learning to code seemed like it would take several years, like learning a new language.

His revelation came when he discovered the no-code movement around 2018-2019. After a brief immersion in a Java development course, he found it too theoretical for his immediate goals and decided to turn to no-code tools. That’s when PandaSuite caught his attention:

In 2018-2019, I enrolled in a two-year Java developer training program. After 4 to 5 months, I discovered no-code and PandaSuite. I then left that training to progress at my own pace with a tool I could understand more intuitively.

Balancing Professional Career and Long-Term Passion Project

Professionally, Neil works as a B2B sales representative for a company providing support services to market research institutes. His daily routine involves prospecting, client management, and contract negotiation. His project, Buzzr Party, developed with PandaSuite, runs in parallel but represents a long-term commitment fueled by personal passion. He explains:

It’s quite disconnected from what I do daily, but there could be synergies in the future, particularly in creating templates for questionnaires and research reports.

Building Buzzr Party: A Social Prediction Game for Football Fans

Buzzr Party, currently in its final stages, is a live social prediction game designed for football matches, where users “buzz” to predict whether a team will score in the next few seconds. Neil wanted to create a fair and fun alternative to sports betting, emphasizing social interaction and rewarding accuracy.

Users watch the match on TV and create a session with their friends to predict whether the home or away team will score next, or if nothing will happen. An algorithm measures collective prediction waves and compares them to the actual match result to award points and establish rankings.

The game also includes:

  • a progressive elimination mode inspired by Squid Game
  • a ranking system
  • a sponsorship logic to reward players

Technical Challenges and No-Code Power

Although Neil has no coding experience, he methodically learned key technical concepts through trial and error and by asking for help. Over time, he learned to leverage essential features like HTTP requests, collections, and live data binding.

The collection component significantly simplified my work. It’s my favorite tool because it offers so many possibilities. Multi-states and drag-and-drop also proved very effective. The webhook marked a decisive turning point in my project.

Complex Architecture Built… Without Coding

Despite his non-technical skills, Neil has implemented a professional-level architecture:

  • Firebase: sessions, timestamps, scoring, user sync
  • Xano: continuous football API calls, data updates
  • External APIs: real-time match statistics
  • PandaSuite: interface, interactions, visual logic, front-end synchronization

I developed a complete application integrating Firebase, external APIs for match information, and Xano which queries the API at regular intervals. Firebase manages all player scoring data. It’s a complex architecture for a no-code developer, but I’m deeply passionate about it.

Replay Mag: A Side Project Turned Launch Driver

To prepare the ecosystem around Buzzr Party, Neil is also developing Replay Mag, an interactive format based on YouTube videos of historic football moments (matches, compilations, top 10s…). Now about 90% complete, Replay Mag serves a strategic objective:

  • It’s visual, dynamic, and easily shareable
  • It’s not dependent on the sports calendar
  • It allows engaging an audience before Buzzr Party’s official launch

The concept is simple: transform a video into an interactive quiz, with freeze frames, predictions, scoring, and soon… a multiplayer mode.

Videos pause at strategic moments, and the user must make a decision: will the shot go in? I manage the clips and their programming in PandaSuite, establishing connections between questions and the scoring system.

Replay Mag serves both as an engagement tool and a teaser while waiting for Buzzr Party’s main gameplay to mature. Neil has even developed his own internal production template on PandaSuite to quickly generate or modify a Replay Mag.

Iterative Development and User Feedback

Early testers highlighted an inherent streaming problem: latency, which varies by platform and could generate frustration when some users saw the action a few seconds later.

Neil is now working on a new point distribution algorithm (currently being tested) to make the experience more equitable.

The next step is to refine the algorithm through real-world testing before publishing the game on the App Store and Google Play.

His Take on PandaSuite: Between Power and Simplicity

Reflecting on his experience, Neil highlights PandaSuite’s unique approach:

It’s the best no-code tool for interactive projects. It’s easy to learn and the interface is smooth. I needed a familiar environment, close to PowerPoint, and PandaSuite’s components work like building blocks that you can freely assemble.

He compares PandaSuite to other no-code tools, praising its clean interface and carefully designed component library, which allowed him to go further with his project.

The tool offers a remarkable balance: extensive features without overwhelming the user with options. This enables an iterative process where you can explore your idea while gradually mastering the platform.

His advice for creators: get started, iterate quickly, seek user feedback early, and integrate learnings as you go.

A Partnership for Lasting Success

Neil also emphasizes the support from the PandaSuite team:

I often reached out to the team via email with technical questions. Their responsiveness and availability are remarkable. You truly feel their desire to support users toward success.

This close collaboration fuels both product improvement and user satisfaction, illustrating a productive partnership between creators and platform.

Conclusion

With Buzzr Party close to public launch and Replay Mag reinforcing the interactive aspect, Neil is enthusiastic about what’s next. He plans to collaborate with influencers on Twitch and YouTube Live for live community gameplay, moving from prototypes to a true social sports experience. His vision is clear: make football interactive, social, and accessible to everyone.

I’ve invested considerably in time and energy in this project. Thanks to PandaSuite, I was able to bring my ideas to life and transform my imagination into a tangible application, which represents immense satisfaction.

His journey demonstrates the impact of no-code on innovation: it allows new creative profiles to imagine, prototype, and launch rich digital experiences without sacrificing technical rigor or project ambition.
